Pemuda PBB Padungan kecam Anwar kerana berbohong mengenai ekonomi Pulau Pinang

Sekian. Terima kasih.

KUCHING: Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is confident that Pakatan Rakyat (PR) will be able to create a storm in the 13th general election.

Anwar is also brimming with confidence that the ‘declining popularity’ of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will turn the tide in Pakatan’s favour if the election is held within this year.

“It is not that early (general election) as we all know that Najib does not have the mandate as he took over the reins from Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi,” said Anwar during a Hari Raya visit to RPR Batu Kawa yesterday.

Anwar, however, advised Pakatan members not to rest on their laurels but strive forward with their policies and programmes.

He also stressed that now was the time for Pakatan to strenghten cooperation among its component parties.

“We in Pakatan will hold a leaders’ meeting every month involving top leaders from Parti Agama Islam SeMalaysia (PAS), Democratic Action Party (DAP) and KeAdilan (PKR) to discuss common national issues and also some state policies and manifesto,” said Anwar.

He also said the discussion on state seats allocation was now the prerogative of state leaders.

“As far as we are concerned, we will make it Pakatan versus Barisan Nasional (BN). They (BN) can attack me at the core, attack Lim Kit Siang or Mat Sabu, that is their game, ours is to explain our policies,” he said.

He also stressed that it was important for Lim Guan Eng (Penang Chief Minister) and Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim (Selangor Menteri Besar) to visit each state and relay Pakatan’s programmes and initiatives to improve the livelihood of the rakyat.

Anwar, whose birthplace is Pulau Pinang and is an economic advisor to Selangor, said both states ruled by Pakatan had experienced momentous development and growth.

“Pulau Pinang has never before been cleaner and better, not only physically but also in governance,” he said confidently.

He also stressed that corruption was getting worse in other states, plus increasing food prices, land issues and the high cost of living.

“It is important for the people in Sarawak to appreciate and understand what is happening, the programmes and projects that have been implemented in our states of Kelantan, Kedah, Penang and Selangor,” said Anwar who visited Kampung Pinang Jawa earlier in the day before proceeding to Mambong.

He also said Pakatan had the upper hand through better programmes and track records and policies which would benefit all races.

“Have there been any change in land policy, corruption, amassing wealth by the few, food prices, infrastructure in the rural heartlands, has anything changed?” he questioned, referring to the imminent changes that would take place when Pakatan takes over the state.

Meanwhile, Anwar also touched on Hari Malaysia on Sept 16 and Hari Kemerdekaan on August 31 which he said should not be politicised.

Also present during the Hari Raya visit were Khalid, PKR Sarawak chief and Ba Kelalan state assemblyman Baru Bian, Batu Lintang state assemblyman See Chee How, Krian assemblyman Ali Biju and DAP’s Batu Kawa state assemblywoman Christina Chew.
